Custom Concrete Conference Table: Design Through Installation
There were 2 sections of the base. I had to make it in 2 sections for fabrication, transportation, and assembly ease. It was fun figuring how to embed the pipes needed for supporting pipes (inserted later)
I had to cast 3 different colored concrete "diamonds" for the client logo.
The client wanted their company logo in the center of the table. This picture shows the pieces in the mold.
This is the logo as it looked immediately taken out of the mold.
This shows the interior of the base sections. I had to incorporate a hollowed out section in each section to cut down on weight (they would have been @1500 lbs!) You can see the supporting pipes go thru the embedded pipes here.
This section completely supported the surrounding cantilevered table area
I assembled the table in the shop to make sure everything worked.
